Hello, welcome to my blog -The World We See!
My name is Mosiah Ahmed but you can call me Moe. I’m 32 years young and live in the UK, but my family is originally from the Horn of Africa – Somalia/Ethiopia to be exact.
For all intents and purposes I identify as a black British man and a citizen of the world as I don’t subscribe to the artificial notions of man made borders but another time for that topic!
It took me hell of a long time to sum up the courage and finally admit to myself that I had let societal pressure and expectations get in the way of one of the few things that brought me unmatched joy – travel. For as long as I can remember, the idea of going to a different place than I lived, has filled me with more excitement than a dog that’s about to be taken out for a walk. I’ve always loved airplanes, airports, languages, geography and have been fascinated by the immense cultural diversity of the world. It’s that exact reason I have finally decided I’ll start a travel blog to share my experiences, trials and tribulations, as I attempt to visit every member of the United Nations- that’s about 195 countries. My ultimate my travel goal!
Here’s some of the things I often said to myself as an excuse for not following my passion:
- ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to travel the world’? ‘I wish I could do that but I’m broke and have life responsibilities like bills, rent, car payments, gym membership & whole host of streaming services to pay for’
- ‘They’re so lucky doing that! he/she must be rich, funded by the bank of parents’
- ‘Travel is not for people like me’
As you can probably tell those were excuses brought on by fear of the unknown, fear of chasing my dreams and I’m learning to overcome that fear and start to live life as opposed to existing only.
Favourite country visited so far:
I’m not one of those people that likes to go back to the same country or place over and over again, but having said that I appreciate there are some places that deserve more than one or even two, three trips for sure – Japan for me as an example!
What I’ll do in the blog:
My aim with this blog is not only to share with you my travelling experiences & unabashed love for the world, but to connect with like minded travel enthusiasts all over the world, while I attempt this ambitious goal of mine!
